Usually knowing the benefits and function of specific acupressure point enables us to get healing and cure from health conditions. Today we are learning about urinary blade 40 or BL 40 which is very useful in back pain, lumbago and knee stiffness in arthritis.

Location: It is located in the center of the soft, fleshy area at the back of your knee, right in the crease of your knee joint.

One way of ensuring that you locate BL-40 is to start by applying pressure along the middle portion of your calf muscle and then run straight up to the back of your popliteal fossa.

Health Benefits of BL 40:

  • Lower back (lumbar region) and knees
  • Activates the channel and alleviates pain
  • Drains Summer-Heat, clears Heat and toxin from the blood,
  • Clears summer-heat and stops vomiting & diarrhea
  • Benefits the bladder i.e. disorders of the bladder, including various urinary problems.

For self-massage:

If you can manage to massage it yourself, thumb finger with appropriate pressure can work. You may need a massage tool such as bonger to conveniently reach BL-40. Use a gentle tap-tap-tapping on BL-40 until pulsing occurs.

To get relief from acute lower back pain:

Place one hand on the painful area and hold the center of the knee crease (B 40, on the same side of the body) with your other hand. It's best to lie down and make yourself as comfortable as possible. You may need to hold for 20 minutes or more before the pain shifts. If the back pain moves to a different location, move your hand to the new location, keeping your other hand behind the knee crease.

  • Eat brown rice or winter squash.
  • Eat foods high in omega-3 essential fatty acids i.e. oily cold water fish (albacore tuna, salmon, herring, mackereel, anchovies, and sardines), flax seed, walnuts, and eggs.
  • Make sure to always have adequate hydration

Herbal medicines supply additional ingredient and help the body fight naturally against the disease by strengthening the immune system. In case of brain fog, herbs help the blood to supply more oxygen to the brain and thus help to keep the brain cells active. Gingko Biloba, green tea and ginseng are some of the popular herbs used to cure brain fog.

Oils to treat foggy brain and dementia

Lecithin: one teaspoon (5 ml) twice daily.

Coconut oil: 10 ml twice daily. It is perfect fuel for brain cells.

Hemp oil:  It has the right proportion of omega 6 to 3 (4 to 1).

All these oils should be organic.

As the Franklin Institute state “your brain is a thinking organ that learns and grows by interacting with the world through perception and action. Mental stimulation improves brain function and actually protects against cognitive decline, as does physical exercise.”

To stay in optimal condition, your brain needs to be challenged and stimulated. Many of us look for brain fog cures through medicine, nutritional supplements or other hocus pocus, but the truth is that the best way to clear an inability to concentrate is by practicing concentrating!

Brain stimulation exercises and meditation: Personally I prefer to keep my brain busy with puzzles, and challenging tasks. There are numerous studies which claim that 'process of learning can keep your brain in best condition'. Meditation is also another approach which I have tried myself and I can assure you that it is really beneficial for curing brain fog or related symptoms.

Brain fog can be cured by taking right precautions at the right time. Alternative therapies are slower than the allopathic treatment procedures but they provide permanent solution.
